OK, so sdwolfpup and I would like you to settle a dispute. It goes a little something like this:

SDW: I can't stop laughing at this headline: Kenny Loggins' son ready to 'Rock'. I mean, I love me some Kenny Loggins, but I'm not sure he ever rocked.

Me: Oh come ON. "Danger Zone" rocked like a fucking ROCK FORMATION, dude.

SDW: I am not sure I could ( Read more... )

lift your goblet of rock, we think we're funny, poll

You know in a Steve Perry/Kenny Loggins throwdown, Perry would win. He's a hair-puller.

Oh, yes, I see. I bow before this evidence of his rockingness.

This one time, I accidentally read a lot of Journey fic, and fanon totally agrees with you.

(It really was accidental. But then I couldn't stop, because my brain was trying to make sense of it.)

I...there's Journey fic? Why am I surprised? I shouldn't be! And yet!

I tested the rockitude of Highway To The Danger Zone by singing it at the top of my lungs and uh all studies point to ROCK.

Also, sex with Joe Dick? Yes please.

I appreciate your scientific rigor! \m/

I just. It would probably be terrible, and I would feel dirty afterward? But I SO WOULD.

trufax. but if you could just get him to keep muttering at you, it would SO be the good kind of terrible?

JOURNEY IS TOO COMPLICATED FOR A RADIO BUTTON.

Shameful Journey: Open Arms, Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'
Borderline Shame: Faithfully
Best Appreciated Ironically: Don't Stop Believin' (GREAT song on a mix with Livin' on a Prayer)
No shame, no irony: Wheel in the Sky, Separate Ways (video aside), Anyway You Want It.

In conclusion, STEVE PERRY!!!!!11!!!

YES! OK, I like this distinction! (Except I kind of like "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'", but mainly because my faaaaaavorite prog band in high school [Dream Theater, who are apparently playing Seattle soon] covered it, and it was kind of awesome. But, I mean, I am still ashamed.)

"Wheel in the Sky" on the SPN previouslies was one of the highlights of my fannish life, no lie.

I used to have long conversations with my friend Henry about the Journey scale. I had it pretty refined at one point.

(And hey, I LOVE Open Arms. And own my shame.)

I love Separate Ways more than is entirely healthy for any one individual.

BUT. Love will find you! Break these chains that bind you! Now I need to listen to the song again. *calls up iTunes*

I adore Kenny Loggins beyond WORDS. Omg, now I wanna go listen to the Footloose soundtrack, but I don't have it. WOE!

WOE. I would provide it for you if I could! Though I will admit that "Footloose" was much less rocking than "Danger Zone." Though I love it!

Footloose is the most rockin'! I mean there was angry gymnastics! And tractor chicken!

(uh, in this instance most rockin' clearly means least rockin. Also I realize that neither of the things have to do with the music, I just feel that I must bring them up when Footloose is mentioned.)

I have never seen Footloose! I know! It is a human tragedy!
