No. It's not just criminal court for youngsters (though I'm not entirely sure if they have that there since we don't handle criminal court.
These are civil matters that we handle, so the one case I have going on now is originally a paternity case that we're trying to collect child support on. So it's a lot of child support, custody, etc.
I've only been there a few times, but I have seen children going into court on what I'm guessing are civil matters.
Of course, which is usually why it happens (and why it happened today). Although even publicly funded clients usually manage to find a relative to look after the child, it is tolerated for the children to come when it's understood that it's because there was no option. But it is discouraged wherever possible.
