In the law codes I've been reading, one of the punishments was being hurled from the city's cliffs. The editor likes to call this "Precipitation from cliffs as a form of execution." I know the sense of "precipitation" in this sentence, but I like to think that in some places of medieval Spain it was literally raining men. -

Last night I dreamed I was seeing Andy Samberg performing live in an improv troupe. I tend to talk in my sleep quite a bit, especially during really vivid dreams, and this time I actually woke myself up by yelling really loudly, "I LOVE YOU, ARDY!!!"
Then Nathan rolled over and said, "who's Ardy?"

Holy shit storm! This is the wickedest one I've ever seen. Apparently there were funnel clouds downtown. I'm at work and the thunder is shaking the building, and a few minutes ago there was a really close lightning strike and the windows crackled! D:
I'm supposed to be biking home in this in half an hour, but I seriously doubt that's happening! -

Happy birthday lietyaCompletely unrlated: the 5+ week garbage strike is over, and today is the first pickup date. Last night on the way home we passed an indistinguishable smear of garbage residue on Harbord which smelled so bad that it followed us for more than a block. Frank McCourt died today, and I'm incredibly sad. I had no idea he was ill, so the news comes as quite a shock. He is one of my absolute favourite authors; 'Tis affected me unlike any book ever has, and inspired me to return to school and make something of my dreams.
