In the law codes I've been reading, one of the punishments was being hurled from the city's cliffs. The editor likes to call this "Precipitation from cliffs as a form of execution." I know the sense of "precipitation" in this sentence, but I like to think that in some places of medieval Spain it was literally raining men.
