it costs around $300
Really???

I just got a copy of my birth certificate and it cost about 10% of that.

She might want to read this bit of that website and be certain that this is really worth the money and hassle: 'Consular birth registrations are not required to register your child as a British citizen or to apply for a British passport as British nationality is passed from parent to child. Your child will need to have an automatic claim to British nationality in order to register their birth in this way.' I'm struggling to think of any reason to register a birth in this way.

We hold all birth, death and marriage registers for Bournemouth dating back to 1837. Copies of any certificates can be ordered using a credit or debit card by telephone
