As I checked my LJ this morn, I discovered bizczarstuff 's mother had passed during the night.  It brought back a lot of memories from Thanksgiving 12 years ago.  My grandmother had been suffering from ovarian cancer for about four years (I think Mom can tell me whether that's accurate or not), she had suffered a couple of strokes and could not take care of

Very kinda words and I appreciate your tribute. Glad in a sense that it brought back some fond memories of your past loved ones. I think I've held up ok, but I get really torn up when I've been talking to friends and family today, informing them of the Funeral Services on Sunday. Its not so much the details of that, but its the stories that they have been telling to me, the memories of my mom that have inspired, amused or stayed with them for years. Most of my friends I've known since Elementary School, some from around college days, no matter the length, she has touched them in one way or another. The infamous Stuffed Shells...my mom's creation. She'd been making them for me and my friends for years here in South Florida. It was only after coming to LA and being away from them for so long that I dabbled in making them on my own, of course with her recipe which I later on expanded on.
