Over here when something happens over there

A little over a week ago my brother had a very serious motorcycle accident. His body is very broken. The doctors at the Trauma Center put him into a medically-induced coma in order to stabilize him so that his heart and lungs could handle the strain of the needed orthopedic surgery (or surgeries). He lost a lot of blood that first couple of days.

I know how you are feeling. When my mother died there was the discussion of I should go back, but since there was funeral and since the Alzheimers had taken her years before I did not go back. We do miss Many things and the anguish sometimes is unbearable, but we have our lives here. If you need a shoulder,please call.

Your dad's advice is wise. I hope your brother makes a strong recovery and will be able to enjoy your visit in a few weeks.

G has missed a number of family crises being over here instead of there. It really tears him apart to not be there and the guilt lingers with him for a long time. It's a very difficult position you all are in.
