My graphic artist brother has been working with an aspiring children's author (she used to be an engineer) to produce a children's book this past year.  It's finally on sale, so I suppose I'll have to buy a couple of copies (me and the 'rents). :D

After work, me and my brother went to see Let the Right One In (a Swedish vampire movie).  It was awesome.   A perfect night.

I did the dumbest thing last Thursday (at a monthly 'beer and cheer' get-together after work in the staff kitchen).  It was a Halloween theme (naturally) where in the back of the room a few people were carving pumpkins on a plastic-covered table, while others had drinks, chips, pretzels, veggies and dip.

Because I was worried about saving documents and found it too difficult to do with CDs, last week my brother Chris helped me pick out an external hard drive (now hooked up) and a spankin' new VCR/DVD player to replace my old VCR, now dead. *wipes sentimental tear*. Together they cost about $335.00.  Ouch, but I'm very glad to have it.  Now I can ( Read more... )

The Friday before last we had a picnic in Stanley Park to celebrate the firm's 30th anniversary.  We got to leave at 1pm (but only if we attended --- we couldn't go home instead -- if we didn't go, we'd have to stay at work until 5pm).
