Standing is painful as we get decrepit. But we can get better with practice. I had one of our younguns realize that I hadn't sat down *once* at practice and that was one of those "if i can't stay on my feet longer than the fat, middle-aged ladies, I'm in trouble" moments. But 1) that was a long short meeting and 2) Go You!
According to the Rules of Scrum, standup meetings are supposed to be short, like 15 minutes long. Ours regularly run 30 minutes. And usually I don't mind too much. I figure it's good for me to not be on my arse all day.
But today my legs hurt. And so, of course, the meeting had to run extra long. Argh!
I would find that standing after 20 minutes would have me thinking about wanting to leave and not have me concentrating on what ever the meeting was about. Not that I can't stand that long as I would give up seats at my old job to older coworkers, but I was really one for meetings sticking to timelines. I was a good facilitator and kept meetings to the point.

BlackOps will actually buy you a standing desk if you want one. At least two of my co-workers have one. I've been considering it, but I'd definitely have to work up to it....
