Heartburn, day two

Mar 18, 2014 08:33

So I'm in day two of a case of heartburn. My second in the past year, after not having heartburn at all since I quit working for Bossy Lady back in 2007. I quit working for her because I was getting seriously painful heartburn as often as twice a week that was keeping me from sleeping. I suspect it was the stress of working for a crazy boss that ( Read more... )

When I'm stressed my stomach bothers me. Even if I have no knowledgeable reason to be stressed...it's hard for my body to come out of it's "fight or flight" mode, especially when you've been stuck in it for so long.

I knew one of the meds I had tried back in 2007 had worked, it had just been so damn long that I couldn't remember which one it was. And I had long since cleaned out the medicine cabinet.

It's stress. I've never had heartburn when it wasn't. *sighs*

Now to try to figure out how to de-stres....

Mine went away (mostly) when I gave up gluten. Severely decreasing sugar also helps (/sigh, getting old sucks).

I miss bagels and morning toast but I don't miss the heartburn. I can drink red wine again! =D

I have a cast iron stomach and can generally eat just about whatever I want.

I'd never had heartburn in my life until my boss (code name Bossy Lady) went off the deep end back in 2007 and turned my job into a living nightmare. The minute I quit that job, I ceased to have heartburn. Until one instance earlier this year (not that I've had any stress at work lately, no, not me! *snorts*)

I just need to figure out how to chill out about work again. I think I just need to make it past the next two weeks or so.

Coming to the party late...have you isolated your upset tummy causes?

I think it was just weird/rich/greasy/spicy food combined with the stress of coming back to the office. Where I had a deadline last week, I have a deadline this week, and another deadline next week *sighs*
