Title: Worst Day Diverted

Summary: From 10 am to noon, his day seriously sucks.
Notes: This is original fic. The characters can be pretty much anyone because no names are mentioned. Drabble, 226 words, written in about twenty minutes, sorry.
He sits up in bed suddenly and it's then that a feeling of horror spreads through his entire body like electricity. What time is it?
The clock says 10 am.
He's late for school.

On the way to school he's wearing mismatching socks, and what's worse? One of them is his mother's and pink. How that sock got into his own laundry bin, he doesn't know.
It's raining and a car goes by, splattering him with muddy, gritty puddle water.
He's soaked.

He's late for English class and when he enters the classroom, everyone is quiet and hovering over their papers, writing intensely.
Sensei glares and hands him a spare exam.
He hadn't known that there was going to be a test today. He isn't prepared. He bites his lip and starts writing anyway, only to run out of time twenty minutes later.
He hands in his exam with a frown. Sensei only glares.

He realizes at lunch break that he's forgotten his lunch money. He seeks out his friends one by one, but no one has extra money and no one is willing to share.
But then he sees him, and the other boy is waving toward him and pointing at his bento.
He smiles for the first time all day.

It's the little things than make potential worst days bearable.
