This... is a very difficult vote for me. A few weeks ago I though I knew exactly how I would vote in this situation, but now that it's actually time to do so, I find myself wavering and going back and forth between the two. Very close vote for me ( ... )

UGH OMG. FFFFF. This vote looks to be really, really hard. But I'll try my best. First off, let me say that you two deserve to be in final two. :O I've enjoyed reading both characers, and even though V9 was kind of... well, tbh, kiiiind of lacklaster toward the end, ifyaknowwhatimean.

ANYWAY. Let's get to iiit.

Taro: I could see that Taro was one of the stronger characters right from the beginning of the game. I liked his backstory with having the big family and allll; I loved his family dynamics in general. There were a lot of elements to Taro, which I dunno, kiiind of made it confusing at times, but I do feel that it all sort of contributed to his character in the end. The loss of Yuuka, his monophobia, his relationship with Kouji--they were all written excellently. That's not to say that Taro was without faults, though. There was a mid-game slump, which culminated with the whole Kiku-Kaz-Aki-Taro meetup, which imo no one left looking good. I was confused with Kiku and Taro's exact relationship, apart from the fact that yeah, they ( ... )

Before writing my vote, I want to say something about both characters and their writer in specific:

Emi: I’ll honestly admit that at first, I wasn’t as hot for her as some of the others were, my vote in the Emi vs Mimiko/Aiko told so. But, ever after Keisuke’s death I’ve grown more and more attached to her and I can safely say that by now, I can sympathize with her decisions and feel like I know Emi. And if you get me to change my mind from being underwhelmed to really liking and feeling for your character with just a few posts, you’re good.

Taro: If there’s any character in v9 that’s had that typical Program-journey, it has to be Taro. We’ve seen so many different sides of him, both good and bad and while not all as equally successful as some others, I think it made Taro into a very interesting character.

I’m submitting a long and incredibly critical list of pros and cons because otherwise I just won’t have a clue who to vote for.

* Taro himself feels like a regular teen. He’s immature, he isn’t clear-cut good or evil and makes mistakes just like anyone else. No, he isn’t a nice guy anymore - in fact, in some of these flashbacks I’ve started to hate him, really - but I think there have been enough explanations for it. When he’s with the gaywads in those flashbacks, I’m getting strong vibes of severe peer pressure coming from his side, which, I think, ties in neatly with being dependant and a pushover ( ... )
