RL: So one of the independents has backed Julia Gillard. ^_^ One down, three to go! She just needs two more, I think, to finally claim victory and be confirmed as PM! I just lol’d because Abbott’s people were so childish and attacked that independent over choosing her side, I mean, wow, what sore losers! *shakes head*

I’ll be happy if Gillard wins ( Read more... )

christ this is a long post lol... trying to follow along.

Haha, sorry, bb, that’s how I roll! I tend to update once a week or so, and I chuck a whole bunch of things in!

Castle Season 3: I am so excited for this, I've read some spoilers and I'm psyched about some of the relationships that are developing

Wait, what are you excited about? Beckett’s new BF? I WANTED TO CRY SO HARD AT THAT. *wibbles*

Also, Alexis is my least favorite character on the show and I want her to DIAF.

LMAO. Alexis? She’s so harmless and cute! Can you tell me why you hate her? [I’m not invested in her character, so you can be blunt, I won’t be hurt on her behalf] Sometimes she’s a little too cutesy and too good to be true and a little OTT on the ‘good girl’ thing [seriously, when she was crying about lying to him THAT ONE TIME and punishing herself by imposing her own curfew and that, I gagged on the saccharine gooeyness of it all]

Bottle Shock: Alan aside, is this any good? It’s unbelievable how many crappy movies have reviews that basically boil down to ( ... )

OMG, WTF?! ARE YOU SERIOUS? Laney/Esposit FTW! *bounces* I am so thrilled for this, it's crazy! I've been saying over and over, who cares about random hook-ups for Beckett or Castle, it's about the team and the cases they investigate, let's get some more screen-time for the boys and Laney, and then the writers offer up a ship between them? BRILLIANT. *twirls giddily*

Lol, I see your point on Alexis, I guess it's just a relief to me 'coz on a few other shows I watch, the children are so horrible and major brats [like Tyler on V, the douchebag], so for her to be an angel just spares me a lot of headaches. But yeah, def too good to be true. Still, she's getting a boyfriend and there's supposed to be conflict with her and Castle, so maybe she won't be so squeaky-clean anymore!

Sex scenes are hot. My favorite is still the one in An Awfully Big Adventure.

I really want to see An Awfully Big Adventure now, just for that! And...yes, the library has it! Ordering now, yay! Lol, I'm such a perve for Alan ( ... )

I think its so funny that you managed to watch Survivor twice and I cant even get through it once.

Mrs. Weasley was quite irrational over that Rita Skeever thing, but I liked her the rest of the time. Oh she kinda treated Fleur like trash too cuz she was pretty and kinda snooty. So what, she still loved Bill. It was Bill right, or was it Charlie? So many damn Weasleys, I cant keep track.

That Dare to Succeed event sounds really interesting....do let us know how it goes.

What meme are you working on? The questions are interesting.

Ha! Well, I always enjoyed it in an abstract background way, and then woodchoc_magnum, who is completely obsessed with it, and I started discussing one season and before I knew it, there was recapping happening!

Oh she kinda treated Fleur like trash too cuz she was pretty and kinda snooty

Poor Fleur! I like that she wasn’t intimidated and wasn’t a victim, though. All the females were horrible towards her, but she was so confident and self-assured. And then they had the gall to suggest she wouldn’t marry Bill- it was Bill! I’m nearly 90% sure!- after he got attacked and I adored her staunch defense of him and her commitment to him and her hysterical comment, ‘I am pretty enough for the two of us’ or something. *squishes*

What meme are you working on? The questions are interesting.I’m ambitious, I’m doing three memes ( ... )

Which is why, in my opinion, she's so friendly to Snape. Half the time he's talking it flies right over her head because he's either busting out the big words or just being way too subtle

THIS. So much this. Agrees wholeheartedly.

At least you admit she has flaws. I appreciate that. It’s when people shove their favorite characters down my throat and firmly deny they have any flaws, they are PERFECT, that I get really irritated. Or when they suggest their flaws make them a better person. Like Harry using Cruciatus showed how gallant he was. *retches*

a bitterly cynical person who is often, literally, the only person in the room who sees something for what it is

WIN. I laugh at the people who criticize him for the things he says, because it’s the TRUTH. They just don’t like to hear it.

Severus is a man who is capable of learning to defeat the Dark Lord at Occlumency, learning to fly without the aid of a broom (a technique only Voldemort is shown to master besides Snape), and who as a SIXTH-YEAR STUDENT made improvements to the Potions textbook directions and invented several new spells besides.a) Harry couldn’t even master Occlumency against someone who wasn’t out to kill him. * ( ... )

Yeah!

No. *headdesk* People get all up on Snape for calling Lily a nasty name, but Harry uses an Unforgivable Curse on another human being (which under normal wizarding law means an automatic sentence to Azkaban) in anger and that's fine.

I questioned what made Hermione earn the title of ‘brightest witch of her age’.

In her year and the one above and below, certainly, because she's always the first one to perform a new spell accurately. Of all time? No. Snape and Voldemort were doing far more as far as sheer power and understanding the principles involved at that age than Hermione was.

... which, of course, makes sense since Hermione is a witch and the other two were wizards. In JKR's world women are always subordinate to men, either as lesser-powered helpers, girlfriends, or mothers. /bitter

So you don’t think his fame has anything to do with it? That if Ron and Luna had become friends, she’d be invited over for holidays and to treat them as her second family? ( ... )

~bounces and squees~ on the RL stuff - I hope it fits you too! That sounds like fun! :D

And yeah - big is always better than small. Big can be taken in or adjusted in some way, but there's very little you can do with something too small!

Bleh to our government. I just hope someone starts running the country soon. This 'hung' business seems ridiculous...

I had tons of fun! I scored a lot of free clothes that suit me perfectly! *twirls* My fears were completely groundless, yay!

Lol, the independents finally declared themselves. I thought it was a little silly how one was saying they considering voting two-one to have a deadlock and result in another election, because...wtf?! AS IF. They won their seats, why would they jeopardize that? And why would they relinquish the power they have? BS!

I hate Molly Weasley, she's third in my most hated HP characters after Hagrid and Ginny

I AGREE SFM. *hugs you tight* And ugh, Hagrid. *spits*

I don't know why fandom holds her in such high regard, the woman was an awful terrible mother.

BUT SHE ADOPTED HARRY AND BECAME HIS SURROGATE MOTHER FIGURE AND HE MARRIED INTO HER FAMILY SO HE WOULDN’T BE ALONE ANYMORE. *eyeroll* Honestly, that woman makes me want to scream, she’s just so grasping and juvenile and GAH.

I agree so hard on the famewhore part, like mother like daughter, I guess*snorts* It’s disgusting the way she acts, honestly. And it’s so obvious during the re-read, because we’re on POA now and I was like, why are the Weasleys staying at the inn with Harry? Are they that desperate to hold onto him? Like, what if another nice family worms their way into his affections, ohnoes! Aren’t they supposed to be poor? So what are they doing renting out the place to be near him for ( ... )
