I wasn't going to post this until after DH had been distributed to the masses, but Reena wanted it now. Look, I'm really torn up about the end of Harry Potter in general, and the canon and fandom I love, and H/D is really just a small piece of it, but I've already gone into a fit with Reena over and over again about how I can't bear all of this ending. So this bit is just about H/D. It's not all I care about, by far, it's just . . . something I wanted to say

1. two_if_by_sea's perfect, perfect analysis of Draco and the layered imagery throughout the film.

2. amalin being amalin!!!! ♥

3. a fabulous attempt by Teresa Jusino to get at the heart of the spirit of the movies, IE FAN WORKS DKLFJD;

(Or, as I shrieked at Kara and Cathy, THE MOVIES ARE FAN INTERPRETATIONS OF THE BOOKS.  I JUST WANT TO SHRIEK THIS AT PEOPLE UNTIL THEY GET IT, AND HAVE BEEN WANTING TO DO SO SINCE ALFONSO CUARON, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.  seriously, i will take this type of layered portrayal over the boxed-in chris carter attempts to reproduce the first two books any day.)
