I found Witches Canyon dry for the very same reasons, so I agree with you 100%. I haven't read the Supernatural novels in a while, but I do remember that one quite well.

You are a braver woman (I assume) than I am. Besides, part of Supernatural's charm is the strategically placed and always loaded with meaning/pathos/foreshadowing "profile shot". Which requires video. :-)

Sammich? Like the way a little kid pronounces "sandwich"? SERIOUSLY?

Have the authors who use this nickname never been on the Internet??

Sadly, the author who wrote Nevermore (another tie in novel for the series) used the term Sammich, for some reason.

Yeah I felt this way about the two (Nevermore and Bone Key) that I tried to read. I'd get a few pages into and then Dean would say something like call Sam Sammich and I'm just like "Yeah, no. I've read better characterization in fanfic kthnxbye", then I think "Hey, I could write Dean and Sam better than this." and wonder how exactly one gets a job writing tv show or movie tie-ins.

'Sammich' wouldn't even have been used in the fictional Supernatural novels.
