Good Idea, Bad author
All right, I'll admit it, I am a huge Supernatural nerd. For those of you who haven't seen the series, its basically about two brother fighting monsters
Now, why bring this up in a book community? Well, my dumb little brain thought it would be just brilliant to pick up the tie in novels. One in particular was Witches Canyon.
You may remember my post for another in the tie in novel series, which also sucked, but I'm focusing on this monster.
Basically the premise was great. There's a mega mall being built and the spirits of some ancient thing don't like it and plan to kill everyone. Yay, a Dawn of the Dead style plot.
The problem is the author. I found the book just plain boring, even with shit getting blown up. This would've made a great episode, (if the show wasn't sponsored by Walmart and actually had a budget), but in book form, its just sort of lifeless. The characters Dean and Sam run into are just kind of there, like wallpaper. You look and go, "ooh pretty" and then walk away.
The one plus is that Sam isn't called Sammich.
