Bleh indeed. I like vampire novels, but in books like this the authors just abuse the idea.

You know what's sad? Some of the reviewers on Amazon and other places compare the author to Anne Rice. IMO, that's an insult to Anne Rice.

intercostobrachial nerve... Claude corresponds to Jack's sexual aggression by pressing his well-schooled tongue against Jack's sterno mastoid muscle, running it down his auricular nerve and jugular vein and back to Jack's trapezius muscle... Down he presses his hands to Jack's trapezius muscle, warm as a heating pad. Lower and lower and warmer and warmer, Claude presses down to his latisimus dorsi. Down the latisimus dorsi to the heat of Jack's ass, separating cotton from skin and cheek from cheek."

I was actually LMMFAO at that shit. What in the fuck?! Hahahaha! xD

Yeah, pretty much. You get authors playing around with the lore all the time. And considering what we think of as 'vampire mythos' is based on folktales there's a hell of a lot of differing interpretations if you dig around.

I didn't really know that when I read the book, but as I mentioned in the review I let it slide after I read some of the additions to the mythos that the author made (like a vampire not being able to kill their creator).
