Teenagers and multiple abortions

May 14, 2008 20:14

Someone I know has just found out her 17 year old daughter has had 3 abortions in the last year. She has been with her boy friend for over 2 years. I know she was given very good sex education from her parents. She is at college and working part time and is a lovely hard working girl. It turns out even though she has been told all about safe sex, ( Read more... )

I'd ask her why she wasn't taking the pill, and recommend that she look into other forms of contraception if the pill isn't working out for her.

She clearly isn't responsible enough to even be having sex in the first place. I would be really upset but...if she is in college, it's her life to fuck up, not mine.

This kind of shit is EXACTLY why I'm pro-life...3 abortions in a YEAR?

That shit is just unecessary...she's 17 years old and is old enough to know how to protect herself.

What a stupid reason to be anti-abortion.

That's your opinion. I don't judge anyone for being pro-choice and you'll never EVER see me be judgmental toward someone who has had an abortion (I have many many friends who can vouch for that, as well as some who have had abortions), and I would appreciate the same respect for my opnion.

Thanks.

I would be upset. I hope to raise my kids to want to not abort babies. I'm going to teach them there are other ways to deal with a situation like this then just kill it off.
Not that I think they should have to keep the child. There are thousands of people out there in the world who could give a baby a good home that can't have babies of there own.
So if my kid took in any of that then after she was pregnant with the first I would be helping her find a birth control that would work for her.

There are thousands of people out there in the world who could give a baby a good home that can't have babies of there own.

And if they would stop being selfish, there are thousands upon thousands of children that need good homes, but are losing out because they aren't "baby" enough.

i would do anything within my legal power to make her use birth control or stop having sex. she would not get a penny from me until i saw proof that she was reliably using birth control or was willing to move home and have a curfew. once is a mistake. 3 times is a callous disregard for life.

this would be after i finished vomiting at the thought of my grandchildren being sucked down a drain.

i would also want to know how i could have created the sort of monster who would rather abort than use birth control or come to her family for help with the baby.

She does live at home, this is in England where college is normally 16-18 and most are still at home.

i don't know what the rules are for when you become a legal adult in england... if i have legal power to force her to take birth control (that she doesn't have a medical reason not to take) then i will. if she's an adult and i have no legal control and she refuses to change her ways, then she would be out of my house immediately. if she wants to keep screwing up her life for some guy, he can take care of her instead of me.
