I just recently heard about the "mosquitone," or generally that there are frequencies of sound that only young people can hear. (It was on Quiz Show!)

This website has some examples to try, you know, to see if you are still young. :D

I can hear them clearly until 16 KHz and only barely on 17 and 18. I don't see how this would be an asset in any

Hmm I can hear them all. Though it was weird since 17 was so hard to hear and 18 came clear. Hmm....

I found by experimenting that whether you can hear the tones or not has a LOT to do with your sound card and speakers ;-)

oh that's crazy! i couldnt hear the 18 hz one till i put in headphones then it was sooo... aghhh. that's crazy that kids were making that the text sounds, gosh i could not deal with my cell phone making that noise!
