-Yet again you LOL me.
Even though I saw Jedi probably 2500 times more than the other films as a kid (and yes, I watched them in the order of Jedi, New Hope, Empire... which made Luke's story really hard to understand when I was six) and liked the Tedd---Ewoks, I think Jedi would have been better without them. Empire had cool lightsabers and hands being cut off, evil triumphing (for the moment) over good, and Boba Fett. Jedi had a huge puppet slug, a bunch of midgets in animal suits, and the same battlestation we saw in episode 4. Been there, done that. Sigh... it's all the fault of the independent contractors.

And Jedi crashed and burned a bit after Empire, yeah. It's probably the weakest movie in the trilogy, but the final confrontation with Luke, Vader, and the Emperor is still undeniably awesome.

In defense of Jedi, the beginning (Jabba) and confrontation with the Emperor are excellent. Its problem is the middle (Ewoks and Endor) which seem kiddified and the Secon Death Star run, which is much less interesting than the first. Now, if the Death Star could refract its laser beam to blow up multiple rebel ship at a time, it would have been much better. If Lucas had watched Macross, Jedi would have been much more exciting. :)
