I overthink. I can't help it. If I don't overthink the situation then I overthink about me overthinking. It's ridiculous and stupid and I can't stop

*hugs* This really sounds like me craving more of Dave in the early stage. We're slowly settling into a routine of sorts, now, which is enough to keep me happy while not causing him to get too socialized.
But you're right--the key is to just think about something else that's more interesting! (I even resorted to sleeping pills and bed just to make time pass, but you're stronger than I am.)
This reminds me of a movie with either Helen Hunt or Meg Ryan. Someone said to her character that she looks too much for other people to like her when there's always going to be someone that doesn't. Even if you might not think of yourself as such, if you crave someone's attention and/or affection regardless of how you feel about them, that's still needy/clingy.
Can I tell you that I didn't realize how common your name is? There's 3 pages of people with your name on FB. lol
Yeah, I didn't realize how popular "Nikki" was... I did a search for myself to see where I would pop up and it was weird. And here I thought I had a unique last name but HA. Shows me. :)
As for the clingy/needy... I don't want to be that person and I think, in general, I'm not that kind of person. In fact, a lot of times I'm quite the opposite (usually finding other people to be too needy/clingy). But I don't know what it is about this guy. You'll be happy to know, though, that I took the "adult" approach and asked him point blank what was going on between us. I'll update about it but it's another of those ambiguous feelings. But I'm okay with it, I think that's the most important thing.
