I've been having issues for a while with low sex drive, and I sort of wish there was something like a birth control pill I was taking, so that I could point to it and say "There! That's the culprit!"
I've been off the pill for 2 months and haven't noticed a change. Then again, I am older. ;) I've also pretty much been on the pill since I was 19. Maybe it's a combination of your normal sex drive and having gone off the pill. Maybe less estrogen+maybe more testosterone=stand back! ;)
I think it's really just my normal sex drive is apparently so ravenous that the pill has been keeping me in check all these years. Now, of course, I just feel more freakish... hahah.
Maybe it's just my constant, pervasive horniness rubbing off on you. Okay. "Rubbing off". Not the best choice of words, but you know what I mean. You know what would help - actually getting out. It's tough to complain when you spend Sunday in cleaning (I speak from experience).
It's so easy to blame... but I think the pill has been just keeping me more girlish and before, my guy friends would tell me I had the sex drive of a guy. Maybe I just have a super strong libido normally and the estrogen with the pill keeps it down... ?
Hey, who knows. Hormones do really wacky things. I'm pretty much ready to blame my pill for all the breakdowns I've been having these past few months (just started getting back on a pill and it's different from the one I had while I was at MHC).
Hormones are tricky things... I curse myself for being subject to their whims sometimes. Especially in this whole WILD libido time... but aside from that, hormones can make you cry!! Who wants that?! I think hormones are responsible and partially to blame in a lot of breakups and divorces out there... and bad decisions. hahaha.
There are a lot of people out there who say the pill lowers sex drive, so it's not surprising. Interestingly, being pregnant increases your sex drive by quite a lot. Weird.
Hey, that's kind of comforting to know that other people say the pill lowers sex drive. I never knew that. I think the scary part is that, even on the pill, I think I have a healthy sexual appetite... it's just the recent pill-less bump that got me all freaked out with my libido in overdrive.
That's interesting that pregnancy increases sex drive. It's funny but then, I suppose with hormones running rampant that would explain it. Did you get crazy cravings like everyone jokes about? Or is that just a myth...? All I know is that sometimes, for pregnant women who are past their date, they sometimes tell them to try to have sex to induce labour. It probably has something to do with the muscles more than the hormones there though.
Thank you!!!! We like him, he's an active little guy and just managed to roll over by himself for the first time! I think it might have been an accident, but shhhh...
As for pregnancy, I think it's a mix of crazy hormone changes and knowing that you don't have to worry about getting pregnant anymore because, well... I didn't have random cravings so much as suggestive cravings, where someone would say something about ice cream, and then I'd want ice cream for three days until I'd get it. Except for beer, my husband couldn't open a beer without me drooling and wanting to chug the whole thing (I refrained, but I am going to go out and by some nice beer to celebrate now that I can move around without percocet!!).
