I participated in Stash Dash (complete 5k of projects between 5/23 and 8/7) this year and while I didn’t make it, it was a great motivator to getting a lot of nearly finished projects off the needles.  I got to 3822 yards between knitting and spinning.   Between Stash Dash and reorganizing the stash I pulled out a lot of wips and have been trying ( Read more... )

The tour ended this past weekend.  I had set goals for myself and while I didn’t meet all of them I made good progress:

This past Friday I finished spinning the Zauberzeug fiber. I still need to ply it, but it is ready to be chain plyed.  A nice rainbow ball that I wound off the drop spindle. I am planning to finish this soon but it has been put aside for a surprise project.

Despite the size of it organizing the stash went much faster than the yarn did.  I pulled out the bags that the fiber lived in and got started. I went to the Container store and got two sweater boxes. I figured I used the under the bed boxes for yarn, why not sweater boxes  for fiber.

Going to the fiber Festival in long Island did wake the spinner in me and I started to spin the rainbow braid I got on Sunday. I can’t decide how to finish it. Part of me wants to chain ply it but I seem to want to chain ply everything these days. The other part of me wants to spin some black fiber, or the glow in the dark white nylon I got with ( Read more... )

On Thusday morning I made a bit of a last minute decision to grab a set of tribbles from Gourmet Stash and an empty spindle and bring them to knit night. I needed a break and I realized I had been working on my Follow Your Arrow KAL almost exclusively for the last few weeks.
