Why I hate checking luggage:

• When we were boarding the plane flying from Philadelphia to Seattle we were assigned to Zone 5, which meant that by the time we were permitted to board they told us that we had to check our carry-on luggage, due to a lack of space remaining in the overhead compartments.

Had a great weekend in Orlando on the HPEF retreat! We got a lot of stuff done, got to see and taste a wonderful preview of what Infinitus attendees will experience this summer at the event, and got to visit the Universal parks and see how the world of Harry Potter will mesh with the rest of the existing attractions. Chris got a stomach bug on Sunday night and now Ben, Rachel and I all have it. Started for me at 5:30 am and now I have the dry heaves. Yesterday I saw (500) Days of Summer, which was an enjoyably non-linear tale with a more upbeat ending than one might expect (although a slight groaner of a reveal when it comes to a certain person's name). I got up when dawn got all crackly this morning, hopped on the Powell cable car to go down the hill and showed up thirty minutes early for my volunteer training. ;) I got to meet a lot of people while waiting, which was good, as well as seeing gwendolyngrace (our esteemed Minister for Magic) and "the other half of her brain", etakyma. We actually trudged all the way up to the top of Nob Hill from the Powell BART station last night, which probably wasn't a good idea after sitting on a plane for about six hours. Well, I've finally gotten us our tickets to and from San Francisco! I've also got us our BART ground transportation from the airport to the hotel and back again at the end of the trip. Can't wait! I think I'm going to like Atlanta. We can take a MARTA train from the airport to the Peachtree Center Rail Station for only $1.75! The train from the airport here is convenient, too, but it costs $5.50 one-way.
