a question- (edit)

yes, only one question, but it's not nearly as snap-judgement as the previous ones. What do you think your 'realistic' dreams mean, if anything? that is; dreams in which you are in places you know or with people you know or whatever, and you do things that you may have never considered in 'real' life? maybe im prone to the oddities because of my ( Read more... )

mostly my dreams are nonsensical and weird... and at least recently, when they've been somewhat realistic it's about a problem i've had of some kind. or something i've been thinking about. i'd say, treat it more like a possibility than destiny. just because you did something or might want to do something in a dream doesn't mean anything except your mind once worked along those paths. it only really matters if you go over it again when you're awake and it doesn't seem absurd or against your wishes.

just my 2 cents

this is a little weird/oddly relevant...

i just woke up from this dream... i, you, and a bunch of random skater-punk type kids were hanging around passing around a blunt. so i'm somewhat worried it's tobacco but by the time i get the words out of my mouth i don't care all that much. so i take a hit and its what i imagine smoking tobacco to be like. then you come up near me and lean your upper arm on me for around 30 seconds, acting completely normal otherwise. i'm thinking i have something i forgot to hide on my person, but i can't tell what it is. then you move backwards and a yellow hi-liter drops between us. then i wake up because my brother assumes i'd rather watch tv than sleep.

it's probably not helpful or relevant to your situation but eh...

okay, so I think that the dreams which are realistic in the sense of depicting real places and things are actually probably the least relevant to your day to day affairs, that is, have the least bearing on "real life".

HOWEVER, having a dream about some circumstance that you may experience at some point in your everyday life is naturally going to affect how you eventually act in that circumstance because hey, how could it not, you're thinking about it, what you did in the dream, whether that dictates your actual behavior, and ultimately it will have a concious/unconcious effect on things.

the verdict, the verdict.

i think dreams are both.

shortly after my uncle died, i started having dreams that my mom was goin to die, and i remember once i woke up and was so convinced that she was dead, that i actually had to clal her to make sure it was a dream. mostly i think thats from me being completely paranoid i am goin to lose someone else close to me again..

but sometimes i will dream about whipped cream on a pancake and how they float around on the beach wearing bikinis. what?

yeah.

anyway, i miss you, buddy.

www.livejournal.com/users/candypants1100 for when you're bored and wanna laugh at my pathetic life.
