*huggles* I'm sorry, sweety; I know that Sabre meant a lot you.. It's always so hard to let go of a loved friend, just know that he's in a better place and is no longer suffering. I think you made the right choice, Ade dono, I think you acted out of compassion and that doesn't make you murderer at all, so don't think that. *'nother hug* Erf..
If your animal is suffering that much, it's not a murder. We put off putting our cat down for years because we did not want to lose her. She was barely even skin and bones when we finally took mercy on her. Sometimes, it's just better this way. You loved Sabre, and when his quality of life became nothing, instead of letting him suffer because you couldn't let him go, you let him be put to sleep. That's the best thing a human could do for a cat.
tears_priestess is right. What would have been for the absolute best were if Sabre wasn't ill in the first place, but know that what you chose to do was the right thing. I'm sure that Sabre would have thanked you for ending the pain he must have been going through.
I don't know what else to say that won't come out sounding like cookie-cutter condolence speak, but I'm very sorry for what has happened. And don't be afraid to cry about it; try to get the sadness and grief out of your system as soon as you can and never let it hold you back; as weird as it sounds, Sabre wouldn't want to burden you with something like that.
