In the past year one of the things that I've learned is that I took on too much. My inability to deliver on my commitments gets me angry at myself for not following through and then leads to depression. It also gets unfairly left on someone else's plate, causing me serious guilt, which adds to the depression. It's only fair that I'm perceived as ( Read more... )

My former university classmate and current supervisor at work, Bev, is often referring to the end-state organization from the original before it gets reorganized. This is a large portion of my job these days -- writing up job specs for the new organizational structure. I'm stronger than I was. I'm much stronger. And getting more so every day. I'm still working at it. But I feel more in my strength than I have in over a year and I'm feeling really good about that.

When I consider how I felt two months ago, it's hard to imagine things would have taken such a sharp turn toward happiness and goodness. I was ready to give up on life then.
