1) The Record: I think baseball is reaping what it sowed. They ignored the use of steroids for years because the long ball was bringing fans back to the stadiums. Now it seems that the holder of two of baseball's most treasured records (Single-season and career home runs) is a cheater. And FAR too late, baseball is up in arms about it.

Screw them.

2) How does one reasonably explain Bond's dramatic physical change between his days in Pittsburgh and his late-career homer binge in Frisco without factoring performance enhancers? You don't get that big that fast naturally or spending every waking moment with a weight in your hand. (I'm getting an unfortunate sense of "Must back the black" from this survey.)

3) He should be a hall-of-famer. His stats in Pittsburgh alone merit inclusion.

4) He's an arrogant prick and I hope his head explodes as he's up to bat to try for 755.

The reason that you and the others who allow the media to think for them think that Bonds is and arrogant prick is because he doesn't kiss the media's ass.

Because he's an uppity negro, the media hate him.

I want for him to shatter the record so that assholes like Mike Lupica's heads will explode.

Because, naturally, I can't watch the man for myself and decide that he's an egotistical, intentionally aloof asshole. It's got to be the media brainwashing weak-minded negros like me.

It couldn't be that the media dislikes him because he takes every opportunity he can to snub them, could it? It couldn't be that he seemingly goes out of his way to be an asshole, could it?

Take that chip off your shoulder, kid.

I'm rooting for him. Mostly 'cause everyone else is hating on him. On circumstantial evidence at best. And the the fall back is....he's not a nice guy.....

Circumstantial evidence tends to add up. (His body change, his connections with known dealers in illegal performance enhancers, his complete lack of any plausible explanation for either of the above). And there's also the glaring fact that there is no reliable test for the equally effective - and illegal - HGH.

And even if I thought he was 100% clean, I'd be rooting against him. Because he's a dick.

Maybe so BUT, that has nothing to do with homeruns.

That extra muscle can turn a harmless infield fly into a single. A single to a double. A double to a triple. Can give that pop fly the extra oomph to put it over the wall. Performance enhancers can't make a bad player good, but it CAN make a good player an all-star (See: Sosa, Sammy)

And if it didn't help with hitting, why is it power hitters that keep getting caught with the stuff?

Human Growth Hormone. No test and no way to prove it was taken, yet will make Bonds look like Bonds in a short amount of time.

Whether or not he took anything doesn't matter. He is still a good player and knows how to hit the ball. Just cause you take steroids or HGH doesn't mean it'll teach you how to hit. You have to know how to hit before. Both just give you more power.

Bonds is a dickhead. It's sad that Hank Aaron will no longer hold the record and some moron like Bonds will take over the record.
There is also little chance of anyone black taking it from Bonds as the amount of Black Players in the MLB has declined rapidly in the past decade.
Luckily, we won't have to deal with Bonds holding it too long as A-Rod or Pujols will quickly be there to take it away from him.

He was a very good player without performance enhancers - Hall of Fame level, as a matter of fact.

And I think that's why so many people were so pissed at him, even before he closed in on Hank Aaron: He didn't ("allegedly") cheat to stay in the game, he cheated to stay in the limelight. Pure ego, nothing more.

I sort of don't care, but it really bugs me that he's not doing this because of his skill. I can't imagine feeling good about holding a record like that because I juiced.
