Human Growth Hormone. No test and no way to prove it was taken, yet will make Bonds look like Bonds in a short amount of time.
Whether or not he took anything doesn't matter. He is still a good player and knows how to hit the ball. Just cause you take steroids or HGH doesn't mean it'll teach you how to hit. You have to know how to hit before. Both just give you more power.
Bonds is a dickhead. It's sad that Hank Aaron will no longer hold the record and some moron like Bonds will take over the record. There is also little chance of anyone black taking it from Bonds as the amount of Black Players in the MLB has declined rapidly in the past decade. Luckily, we won't have to deal with Bonds holding it too long as A-Rod or Pujols will quickly be there to take it away from him.
He was a very good player without performance enhancers - Hall of Fame level, as a matter of fact.
And I think that's why so many people were so pissed at him, even before he closed in on Hank Aaron: He didn't ("allegedly") cheat to stay in the game, he cheated to stay in the limelight. Pure ego, nothing more.
Wel, they are Latin American and not black. There was just a article on ESPN.com about this. The black players in the MLB don't consider them black and are rather upset about the decline in black players.
Well, that is the whole thing. They aren't African American. They aren't from the US. This is what the article was about and what black (african american) players were quite concerned about. The sport isn't being marketed to black American kids. Scouts aren't going into the black neighborhoods to scout out players. There were complaints that it is turning into a sport of priveledge.
Actually, Latin (Spanish) is a race. Some are just darker than others. Yes, some parts of the Caribbean have blacks stemming from the massive amount of slaves sent over back before the US even started exploiting African slaves. But if you ask them if they are black, they will say they aren't.
It is true that scouts aren't going into black neighborhoods. There are baseball teams there in High Schools. Yes, less Blacks are playing baseball as well. The MLB has been taken over by Whites and Latino's and now the Japanese are getting a stronger hold. It isn't seen as a sport that blacks can get into. There aren't enough in the MLB to have heroes to encourage the black youth to feel inspired to play baseball. This isn't coming out of my mouth, but out of black players in the MLB now and their own experiences with scouts and where they grew up.
In latin America, baseball is huge. They don't have a lot of money, but the MLB invests tens of millions in Latin America so they have the equipment and staff to keep baseball alive.
It is a race as they have different characteristics than other races. If they aren't a seperate race, what would you categorize them as then? Caucausian? black? Asian? It most certainly is a race, just Spanish may not be the official label for it. I'm a little tired today so the brain is firing 100% as it usually is.
You need to take it up with Carl Crawford and the other two who said these things. I am just repeating what I read from them. I happen to agree as there aren't many AMERICAN Blacks in the MLB anymore. I will concede and just say American Blacks so we can get past that. It isn't like it was. Central American and South America have certainly taken a large share of roster spots and scouts are down there looking for new talent, rather than going into black schools and neighborhoods where there is unfound talent. The percentage of American Blacks went from around 20% to 6% in the past two decades. That's a large decline and many American blacks look at baseball as a white sport now.

No one can tell me that players like Carlos Delgado and Jose Reyes are not black. They're not African American, but they're definitely black.
