I had a grandmother who relished using the stinky fingers method for breaking her grandkid's nail-biting habit. She employed onions, garlic, doe-in-heat scent, and other creative substances we'll just let slide on by here. Then, she discovered the magic elixir that never failed: her perfume. I don't recall the brand, but I'll bet the manufacturer totally missed listing this particular angle in their marketing claims.

Try vanilla extract. Just a few drops and rub them all over. It's especially good if you're like me and love the smell of vanilla.
