I saw this photo in the Times-Picayune the day St. Louis Cathedral School re-opened and I had to have it as a user pic. I don't know who the nun the foreground is, but the guy in the background is Alfred C. Hughes, the Archbishop of New Orleans. For the record, I hear he sucks at basketball. The verdict is still out on the nun.

I'm glad someone is painting a more accurate picture of what's going on in New Orleans. I'm really sick and tired of people saying "Isn't it better yet?" And it's good that people are telling the rest of the country about the epidemic of depression and suicides. A lot of our friends are on Lexapro or Paxil, and even more are "just depressed". The last time we were in New Orleans (about 3 weeks ago), I called up and cancelled delivery of the Times-Picayune and then re-subbed as a mail customer. I was told that the paper runs about 2 weeks behind for mail customers and costs 3 times more through the mail, but I didn't really care.
