RIP Sen. Edward Kennedy.

I have no idea why his death is touching my heart. He was not particularly radical. I suppose his staunch defense of his opinions makes me admire him.

We finally made it up to NH for a bit of vacation. Kim's late husband's family has a summer house on a pond and it is usually quiet and peaceful. While I was showering today, I overheard Chorus and Ryan in the bathroom.

Ryan: Why is this scale broken?

Chorus: It isn't broken, Ryan, but if you keep jumping on it, it will be.

On most days I can put my feelings aside and do what Kim needs done without becoming overly emotional. Today was an exception. I noticed that she needlessly bought vitamins at Costco. The ones she bought are redundant. While cleaning up around the coffee table, I found the sales slip and took the box of vitamins in order to return them. I misplaced ( Read more... )

After 4 hours, Calla and I have just finished paying our bills and Kim's bills. I also managed to write a letter protesting a parking ticket Kim got and another letter/form asking the State of New York if it is really appropriate and necessary to bill Kim about $500 for a mistake made on her 2001 taxes totally $0.50. Given the monthly bills, the business papers, the papers from the hurricane and New Orleans' stuff, and Kim's bills and paperwork, it is a wonder I can find anything at all. Drummer Dinerral Shavers of the Hot 8 Brass Band was shot and killed just after Christmas while driving with his wife and child in New Orleans. Jealina Brown was killed in her Uptown home on Friday.
