Red silk goller

Jul 06, 2008 12:11

As always I can't wait when I get a notion to sew.
I'd bought 1 metre of a really pretty patterned silk several months ago and I decided that I'd make a silk goller of the vest-like type and an apron from it.
I've finished the goller now. Well, I need to add a hook and eye in the bottom of it and it's really done.

It's beautiful, Too bad my dress would clash with it or I would try to steal it from you but hey I'm a LAndsknecht I shouldn't worry about matching.

You are a landsknecht, just steal it when you get the chance. :)

We run into a few problems with this, First we would need to go by boat adn I would have to take my unit to lay siege to your town and well we. the Landsknechts, are not known for our sailing ablities and then once we have your town we can take your clothing if you are not wearing them which means we would have to kill you (Because we only loot the dead) but damn it I like you;

Thank you. I love the fabric. I have cut out a fancy court apron from it, will wear that the other way around so it will be a black background with red pattern. And there is enough left to make a fancy pouch from the scraps.

Thanks, I'm going to use the scraps for making a fancy pouch. There is one preserved in leather that I've always wanted to make. So I figure I'll try it in this silk instead. This link should take you to a picture in bildindex of the pouch in question: http://tiny.cc/1ZU4V

Sadly the 'tiny' URL didn't come through: I am interested in seeing the pouch you intend to make if you have some time to resend the image?

Thank you. There are a few adjustments I'd like to make for the next one, but it's almost always like that. :)
