I got memory loss and shakiness so bad on the wellbutrin I had to get off. It got to the point where it took me five minutes to button up a blouse and I was forgetting words all the time, not a good thing for a writer. Oh, yeah, then came the hallucinations. That was Wellbutrin for me. Not Depakote. Depakote suited me fine although I'm on Seroquel now.
That really does not sound good. I'm not a writer, but I'm a linguistics major... as a multilingual, I would like to keep my words! How long did it take before that happened? I've been on it for about 3 weeks now. Dep and me seem to be getting along okay. It makes me stupid, but that's better than crazy, right?
It took a few months for the wellbutrin effects to pile up with me but they were completely reversible. My psychiatrist assured me they memory loss would temporary and it was.
Everyone's different of course--my experience doesn't predict yours--everyone gets different milage.
Depakote and Seroquel gave me that "uh I'm dumb" calmed down feeling for a bit but then that went away and I swear I feel okay now, just not racing a mile a second with anxiety and brilliance. I can still be brilliant--only not in such a crazy way. XD
As for the shaking, just to be safe you may want to call your doctor and ask him/her to see you immediately, to rule out Tardive Dyskinesia - it's not common per se, but if it's not treated it can become irreversible. Hope you soon feel better!
I do have appointment on the 12th or something soonish like that... gotta get my usual blood test to make sure I'm not toxic. I'll mention it to the doc for sure.
I'm on the same cocktail as you, although more Wellbutrin and not sure how much Depakote. I've only been on it for just over a month but I too am having issues with remembering words when I am usually a very articulate writer and conversationalist.
