Too many passwords
I had this old keychain sitting on my computer from a previous user account (it's basically a password-protected list of all my passwords). I couldn't remember the password for it. Why So Difficult?
Computers are supposed to make life easier by automating common tasks. And yet, I can spend hours trying to get a computer to do exactly what I want. I could blame my lack of knowledge of computer programming, or I can rant about an economic system that gives us plenty of choices, none of which actually provide me with what I want.

Post-doctoral taxation in Canada
In response to a query from the Canadian Society of Ecology and Evolution I have to admit, I feel somewhat ambivalent about the issue of postdoctoral taxation. On one hand, I feel that post-docs are employed professionals, and not students.
