We have ducks in our pool. Our apartment complex pool has been closed for the winter and a few days ago a little brown female duck showed up. Reading Pet Peeves
Do you ever get thrown clear out of a story you are reading by an inconsequential detail? This happened to me quite recently several times in the same book. The author really liked using brand product names, and I guess I've discovered a pet peeve:

Knitting
Just took my first knitting class yesterday... ye ha! I'm so excited and nervous. The teacher is encouraging us to make something other than a scarf for our first project, as she says we have a teacher and should take advantage of that fact - she's trying to get us all to make a sweater. The Perfect Cup
I'm just now having the best coffee ever. Not too sweet, not too bitter - perfect amount of cream. I am in heaven. I like drinking coffee on the weekends, and I usually enjoy my cup... but every now and then - I make a perfect cup. I don't know why, but sometimes the ratios just line up and WHAM! Perfect cup. So I'm nervous. Feel like a kid the night before the first day of school. Sigh. I got the job (yay!), had my last few weeks of freedom (boo!) and now I start tomorrow. Man, oh man. Life's a beach...
Test went well . . . had two interviews and did . . . not so well. I dunno - I just can't seem to 'sell' myself. I know I can do the job - I just don't know how to properly convey that conviction. Sigh. Will know for sure in a week or two.
