A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum
This realy only applies to Gopher hockey fans but others are free to respond as well:
I was speaking my uncle the other day and he said that the Huskies are going to have a hard time with the Gophers this year. I said that they ahve a hard time every year with them but last year they handled them fairly well (including the 8-7 OT Final Five Semifinal!111111 woo!!11!). he said that this year will be different because of the incoming freshmen talent. I said that the Gophers always have high-caliber players coming in and that it's really no different. He then responsed with the fact that X amount of them were drafted int he first round of the NHL's entry draft. I said that they always have drafted players. I then mentioned that it is scary to base your season on freshmen who hadn't seen a moment of ice-time in the WCHA which is a little different than High school. He said that "first-round selections are different" or something like that. We went back and forth.
Now, he's not really a Gopher hockey fan (so to speak) but he was very intense on his responses. And I'm not implying that SCSU won't have a hard time with the Gophers this season. So...my question is:
What do you guys think will happen with the Gophers this year? Is this the best incoming class there ever has been? What does that do good or bad? Please, share your wonderful insight.
