I felt like this episode told me a lot of shit that has never been shown. Basically Dean has barely spoken to Cas since 5.22 (now coming up on two years ago in show time) and all we've seen of their interaction since then has been Dean calling Cas when he needs him like a dog. But now apparently Sam would die for Cas and Cas is like a brother to Dean?

That's great, Show. I'd have no problem with that if it wasn't TOTALLY OUT OF ACCORD WITH EVERYTHING I HAVE SEEN SO FAR THIS SEASON.

*bangs head off floor*

Also, what the hell was that narrative technique? UGH.

Definitely agree. I mean, if they were going for shock value, they got it, but it just seems like they thought of this shit at the last minute and there was no real foreshadowing. I bet that's what happened, maybe they knew Eve was boring as hell and needed a better theme for the finale.

I actually like the narrative technique, though with full knowledge that it is horribly out of place on this show. It sort of felt like Castiel was breaking the fourth wall and talking to the audience, which would have been awesome like he was an angel and thus it made sense for him to have the power to do that, but the ending showed that he was talking to god, which immediately made it less awesome.

Your balls are simply magnificent. *hugs you*

:D But seriously, I hate useless characters and I was hoping that they were permanently gone several episodes ago with that whole montage. I mean, why did they but a flashback, signaling that Dean was saying goodbye, just to bring them back? Either they'll keep coming back (FML, I WILL SEND HATE MAIL) or this next one is the last episode and it would have made much more sense in that one.

I sort of wonder if they meant to say goodbye but are bringing them back because of the 7th season news. I mean, they did it before in season five when they found out they were getting a season six, so it's not like they're past doing that. :/

I have a feeling we'll be stuck with Lisa/Ben until the series ends.

That seems so unfair considering we lost Ellen and Jo.

Only sane Dean/Castiel fans populate my flist, and you're one of them, lol. :D See, I feel like you can love a pairing, even if it doesn't always make 100% sense as long as you see its faults and don't get overly defensive of it and disrespectful of other ships. I'm like that with wincest (and I think I'm starting to come back to it, even though I swore I quit it after season four. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO QUIT YOU.) I mean look at it, in Monster at the End of the book, Sam and Dean were clearly weirded out over wincest fan fiction, but then you get such priceless gems as soulmates in heaven. No one is better than the other, and as long as you're self-aware, I think I can stand any pairing from anyone. That's why I secretly love Sam/Castiel shippers. They're all, "why do we ship them? IDK, they're hot and we feel contrary ( ... )
