The short reaction?
I liked the episode, even though there were a million headscratchers, like um, where the fuck is this coming from? I mean, two episodes ago I was complaining that Dean doesn't care about Castiel lately and all through this season and the last Castiel has been way in the background, but now suddenly not only does Dean consider Castiel to be family like Sam and Bobby (sorry, no, Sam is more important, because you tell me when Dean has even been able to fight against Sam, even when he's on the other side), but Castiel is the main plot focus. Like smut_junkie said on tumblr, the episode hasn't earned our emotions. If it's earned anyone's emotions, it's only because of people's love of Castiel and not wanting him to be on the other side or killed.
But hey, I'm so jaded from actually expecting a consistent plot for this season that I'm taking all that with a grain of salt and so now let's talk about how gay this episode was. I mean, really? "The stench of the Impala all over you?" Castiel coming to look at Dean rake leaves? That hurt reaction when Castiel confirmed that he'd been lying for, like, ever, and then Dean's last look as he leaves? "We can fix this?" I felt like I'd been plunged back into season four with all the slash because it hasn't been this heady since that time. I still don't ship it because really, the evidence is seriously conflicting with the fact that either you get blatant shit like this or nothing at all that suggests that Dean gives two shits about Castiel.
Also, I've missed Crowley, but damn did he yell at lot. I'M. ACT. ING. I am evil because I sort of want them to kill Castiel because I would enjoy seeing all the reactions and then see how many people would come back for season 7. I think that's why I'm confident they won't kill Castiel or make him wholly evil, simply because too many people really would stop watching and they need all the fans they can get.
The next episode preview looks stupid. FML, LISA AND BEN AGAIN? Please tell me they die. Come on, spn. You've killed a million other females, at least don't fail me on this one. But HOLY FUCKING SHIT, THE FINALE IS GOING TO BE TWO HOURS LONG. AND THE DESCRIPTION OF IT, OMG, TELL ME THERE WILL BE NOTHING BUT WINCHESTER ANGST.
