See I'd love it if they went the route of, "they'll never be what they WERE, but after this blow out from two seasons, they've learned the WORST and so now they can grow BETTER." I think I could forgive everything if that were true, and I'd be impressed. Most TV shows wouldn't be able to hold out that long to fix something, so either they're going to be awesome and fix it or leave it.
I agree with this post, SFM. I loved that their axis mundi is a two-lane blacktop so much I had a little squee fit on the couch. And hell yes to lil!Sam and Dean with the fireworks because there's nothing like good memories for the Winchesters to break your heart. AND OMG, ASH!!!! HOLY SHIT, THAT MAN IS AWESOME!!!!!!
All this said, the episode was utterly wonderfully depressing. I almost started crying when Castiel lost his faith and when Dean THREW OUT THE AMULET. SAM HAD BETTER PICK THAT SHIT UP OR ELSE THERE WILL BE HELL SOMETHING TO PAY. And omg, just...wow. Serious shit storm. Looking back on season 1, I never thought the series would get this dark.
Darkness and loss of faith aside, do you think Dean and Sam share the same heaven? The way Ash threw the comment out there about soul-mates got me thinking. All roads might not lead to Wincest, but I'd have to say it's undeniable that the brothers Winchester are bound together.
Right, I too was confused with the throwaway 'soulmates' line. Why include it? And I find myself not rooting for slash like I used to at all. Now it's kind of like a bonus, not a requirement. I could actually buy the soulmate thing as in they're brothers and bound together and they're not fit for anyone else so hey, let's not separate them.
YOU MAKE ME VERY CURIOUS ABOUT THIS EPISODE. CAPSLOCK-CURIOUS. You have NO idea how hard it is not to read this post/comments but I was scanning the flist and saw this and I was SO intrigued. And then I saw your moodtheme.
Oh, man. Thank you for the dl or I would not have seen the thing for days and days. And then I would not have had this lovely shared experience of CRYING LIKE A LITTLE BITCH DURING THAT FIREWORKS SCENE.
I mean dear god, I admit to crying over some things, but I don't think I've cried over a tv show. For god's sake, I didn't even really cry when Sam was first stabbed in the back, though I did get all still and trembly. I guess it's been so long since I've seen them simply being pleased in each other's presence that the fireworks scene made me want that HARD.

I'll let you live in your illusion. At least until Sam gets on one knee and offers the necklace back so they can be gay married or something. :P
