I cried too, during that fireworks scene. And then the realization that Dean's happiest memory was being with young Sammy, but Sam's were all things without Dean...That slayed me. And the way Dean looks at his mother? Kills me every time, so when she turned on him, my heart sank for Dean.
I dunno if I can watch that one again any time soon. Good, but heart wrenching.
Oh it definitely slayed me. But you know I'm actually strangely not mad at Sam. He honestly did not have the good memories out of spite. When Dean reminded Sam of flagstaff and his side of it, Sam said he honestly never thought about it, and the same with the night he left for Stanford. And we didn't get any other happy memories to go off of, so how do we know that ALL Sam's happy memories are about Dean leaving? I'm pretty sure if we'd waited a bit longer, we'd at least have the memory of Dean coming back from hell. It's like, WE know that Sam cares because dear lord, he wanted to sell his soul too. And you'd never hear this from me during season four, but I really hope that Sam cares as much as I hope he does. I can't keep the image of their huge fight from the end of S4 out of my head nor of Sam's face after he discovered Ruby's betrayal. I WANT TO BELIEVE, LOL.
I KNOW, OMG. SAMMY NEEDS TO FISH IT OUT AND WEAR IT AND AFTER THEY SAVE THE WORLD, TAKE IT OFF FROM AROUND HIS NECK AND LOOK AT DEAN ALL WATERY-EYED AND DEAN CRIES EMO TEARS AND I CAN GO INTO SEASON SIX READY FOR A BETTER VERSION OF SEASON ONE WHERE THEY HUNT PEOPLE, SAVE THINGS AND THEY HAVE FUN AND ONCE IN A WHILE BRING CAS AND BOBBY ALONG FOR THE LULZ.
The only thing I didn't like about this episode was Pamela's attitude toward Dean saying Yes, and Zachariah's attitude toward their mum. I know he's fucked up but, WEAK STOMACH HERE, I DON'T NEED TO SEE THAT SHIT.
Anway, yes to all of this. I'm looking forward to a lot of Dean ad Castiel bonding [do not read 'bonding' as 'bondage'] over being abandoned by their fathers and betrayed by their brothers and OMG NO WONDER EVERYONE LOVES CATIEL, HE'S DEAN. WITH WINGS.
I lol'd. :D And really, if they amped up the subtext on Dean and Castiel, I'd maybe ship it, but I'm kind of more of a gen person. Funny, seeing how I was an ardent Wincest person. I could maybe see myself going back to that if they fixed them and then gave more slash fodder, but for now I cried over just Dean being happy with his little brother shooting fireworks so yeah, not caring much about that. :P
IDEK about Pamela. But you know, she does seem the type of person to be happy with people dying and being in heaven because she was blinded because she ignored the warning not to look directly at Castiel, so she's not overly wise and definitely 'lives in the moment'.
