I've never actually listened to a podfic. Honestly, it would probably squick me, 'cuz I'm odd. But I definitely have considered reading my own if that's the case. You're right--the only way it's going to turn out the best is if the author reads it. I'd podfic some G ones if you started a comm, or something, and needed help getting stuff out there.

I think the porny stuff might, but really hearing a G-rated story isn't bad at all. Not all podfics are that good because some people really make every character sound the same. I mean, it's not that you have to sound like them, but there should be inflections for each character and it should at least seem like them. And awesome, I would love to have you read podfics.

I know exactly what you mean. Some people are such...not bad, but ~emotionless~ readers. I think I can do it okay.
