I mentioned in the last entry I've been watching School Rumble. It's a comedy anime about kids in high school with crushes on each other, but they'er too shy to ask each other out so they think up all sorts of wild schemes to hook up, and wierd shit happens ( Read more... )

Being with someone who has the same hobbies as you isn't a guarantee for being happy. In fact, you might get into each other's space too much if your interests are too alike and you never get a break from each other.

Love is always about accepting someone for who they are, loving someone for who they are - not in spite of their imperfections, but *because* of their imperfections. Hobbies and interests have little to do with that.

What Damanique said. To take it a step further, some of those imperfections are the things that really make a person adorable. And you and your partner's imperfections need to balance out.

My relationships tend to work out with social butterflies that don't have good self confidence. I am notoriously quiet, so it helps me to have someone who can hold 80% of a conversation. On the other hand, I root for the underdogs by nature, and that is comforting to people who aren't on top of their game.

Well part of my problem is being afraid that someone won't accept me for who I am, say if I ask them out, or they ask me out. I mean I assume that, because of the way I look, they'll know what kind of person I'll be, but that's not for certain. It would certainly be embarrassing if someone I ask out suddenly thought I was a big dork because I like, say, BSG ( ... )
