I made it to the gym Wednesday night, and yoga and martial arts yesterday so my exercise quotient is approaching normal again.  We're going forward with the au pair thing.  He'll be arriving around the 2nd week of May.  Since the guy would like to communicate with his friends and family back in Germany and we only have dial up internet access at ( Read more... )

I once had an off-site site tied to our home office by two phone lines. 128k for the price of two land-lines. Handy. I'm sure that you could find some vintage 90's hardware for that. Most modern dialins support that tying together of lines.

Or not.

Talk to your dialin administrator. If they're competent, they may have a few tricks up their sleeves.

Good luck with the satellite broadband thing. I hope it works out. When I get out to Napa, if they haven't extended cable out to my friend's neighborhood, I'll have to look into the same thing. Who's your provider? I want to check prices, just in case.

Hughes Net is the provider. The only competitor that I've found is Wild Blue, but they're at max capacity in most areas so that aren't taking new customers.
