Shawn is also one to never say no to Thanksgiving.
It still doesn't seem completely right. His dad isn't here, and neither is Gus, and both of those things are crucial elements to any Thanksgiving, but that's starting to hurt a little less. He has his Chicago family, and while they may not have been family long, it meant enough to Shawn.
Regardless, Shawn is dressed as a pilgrim, because he can, and it goes with the theme (yes, he actually read Buffy's journal entry), and has contributed his famous pineapple upside down cake to the buffet line.
That might be the one you want to skip, Chicago. Just so you know.
It's Phoebe, who is impressed he's dressed himself up. Thanksgiving doesn't seem completely right to her yet either, people missing and she's keenly aware of it, but she isn't one to linger in sadness. She'll sidle up next to Shawn, giving him a once over. "Hiya, cutie."
"Phoebe!" And she's immediately greeted with the trademark Shawn Spencer smile and a happy Thanksgiving hug. There will be hugs all around for anyone who wants one, but Phoebe doesn't even have to ask. "Happy Thanksgiving!"
Shawn Spencer hugs are the best hugs! Phoebe beams up at him and tackles him into a trademark Phoebe Donovan hug of her own, arms winding affectionately around his middle. "Happy Thanksgiving to you! I'm totally ready for the day. Even brought my Thanksgiving pants. Come at me, bros!"
He grins as he pulls back from the hug, with a soft pat to his stomach. "I have a stomach of steel. I'm more than prepared to take on everything and everything. I'm going to eat until I explode."
"You realize I'm going to need to see evidence of this. Not that I'm challenging you to a food-off or anything, but I'm going to be paying close attention to see if you really do eat until you explode," Phoebe says with a grin in return. She eyes the table with the food, a fond smirk on her lips.
"At the risk of lightning striking me down, I'll admit I have never had pineapple upside down cake for any holiday meal," Phoebe says, placing a hand over her chest as if she is greatly ashamed of this fact. "I have now learned the error of my ways."
Trin is never one to say no to, well... anything. Ever. Even if it’s questionable pineapple upside down cake. In fact, because Trin starts with dessert, she’s going to swoop in on that pretty much the second Shawn puts in on the table.
“Oooooooooo, what’s this? Is that pineapple? That looks delicious! Did YOU make this?” Her hand, holding a plastic knife, stabs towards it, looking to cut herself as big a piece as possible.
"I did," Shawn says with a grin, pleased that someone else in this universe is a fan of his favorite delicious flavor. He loves pineapple a fair amount more than he should, given that pineapple juice has a high acidic content and could burn off your tongue.
In his opinion, it's worth it. "It's my famous pineapple upside-down cake."

"Let me guess. Pineapple's yours?"

Actually, Shawn, lots of meals are complete without it. Awesome you may be, baker you are not.

She goes over to serve herself a generous slice.

... Good luck with that cake, Phoebe. Shawn never claimed to be a baker.
