All Rare and Resolved To Drop

Elle makes her way into Twice Sold Tales, looking around the place curiously. Used book stores were one of many things she’s never been exposed to. Growing up practically locked away from the world certainly did deprive her of a few things in life. But she figures she should probably pick up a book or two on nursing with the little money she does ( Read more... )

Suddenly, without warning, HORRIBLE UNDEAD GHOUL-THING FROM ABOVE.

By which we mean, Raziel was probably lurking atop the Seraclinic in his campaign to find all the best rooftops to use in his re-envisioning of Chicago le parkour. And then there was someone who looked in need of assistance, and... well.

Most people are, by now, mostly over whatever the Carnival did to screw with their brains. Raziel has taken his Glaysa-imposed sense of heroism and turned it into an art form.

"If you'll pardon my interruption," he says, voice mellifluous at all odds to his ghastly appearance, "you seem distressed. May I render assistance?"

Elliot's eyes widen in surprise at his appearance. If anything, she seems more paniced now, and she takes a deep breath, trying to keep calm. Could this place getting any stranger?

On second thought, she doesn't want to know the answer to that.

"Well, you see, I was here because I'm a doctor and I need a job because I'm still pretty new here, and I can't you know, not have a job, right? So I was looking into places and I came here to see if they were hiring anyone or not, so do you know if they are? Because if they aren't, I need to find a place that is, you know?"

She manages to get all of that out without taking a single breath, her arms flickering a little in visibility. She hasn't learned how to get that under control yet.

"A woman of healing!" Raziel makes what's probably supposed to be an appreciative gesture. It may come off a bit more as LOOK AT MY FREAK CLAWS. "A noble pursuit indeed. Unfortunately I have little knowledge of the surgeons of this city, or the means by which they accept their apprentices. However, if you would like me to inquire for you..."

The claws definitely make her gasp out a little. She's so not used to dealing with stuff like this. Like, at all.

"Well, I was going to go inside and find out for myself, so you don't really have to do that. Besides which, I'm just a regular doctor, so finding surgeons wouldn't really help because that's not my specialty." Her voice gains an almost known it all tone before she continues. "And for the record, the right term is resident, not apprentice."

Sylar's left the apartments and made his way into the city. It's not too busy yet, especially since it's the middle of the day, and most people are stuck behind cubicles or counters, pandering to the general public through phones or food until five rolls around.

He spots a head of familiar blonde hair disappearing into the bookstore across the street and quickly follows, making his way inside. By the time he makes it through the door, she's already gone down one of the aisles, and he takes a step into the adjoining one, eyeing her through the shelves of books.

It doesn't take long until she realizes she's being watched by someone. Years of being trained as a Company Girl is to blame for that. She looks up, conveniently at a spot in the shelves where some of the books are missing.

Her eyes widen a little, but she tries to keep her composure about her. "So I'm assuming by the way you're following me around, I'm assuming you're Sylar today," she spoke in a dry voice.

Inwardly though, she's kind of glad for a familiar face. Maybe he can help her find what she's looking for.

"How deductive of you, Elle," and oh, there's that sinister grin of his rearing its particularly ugly head while he keeps his eyes locked onto hers.

"First Claire, and now you. Really, I'm starting to think this day isn't turning out so badly after all." Idly, he plucks a book off the shelf, pretending to flip through the pages.

She can't help but flinch a little at the sinister smile, suddenly remembering being pinned on a beach, him smiling at her in a similar fashion.

Okay, so maybe she has a little post traumatic stress. Could you blame her?

"So first you followed around Claire, and now me?" She asks with a raised brow, regaining her composure. "Careful, someone might start thinking you have a thing for blonds."

JD wanders around the streets of Chicago often enough. He's happy so that means he leaves the tower to get fresh air, sunshine, and to meet people.

It's coincidence really that he happens to walk by the clinic when Elliot is standing outside of it.

He stops and blinks at her, and then thinks he's seeing things. It wouldn't be the first time, but then she doesn't go away. JD's mouth drops open. He has been here so long. Over a year. He didn't think that after all this time someone from his world could actually follow him through.

"Elliot?! Oh my God! Elliot? Is that really you o- or am I going crazy? Or are you someone that looks just like her, but not her?" Yeah, he's going to ramble a bit.

Elliot is snapped out of her thoughts at the sound of a familiar voice. She turns around to face him, a smile spreading across her lips for one of the first times since she's been here. It's so nice to see a familiar face.

"J.D." She exclaims happily, hugging him tightly. "It's really mean, I mean I think it is anyways," She rambles a little. "Though I thought maybe I was imagining things and going crazy too, actually, part of me is still a little afraid of that, but everything seems real, even the really strange, bizzare stuff, so I guess I must not be going crazy after all."

"Elliot! Oh my God! Oh my God!" Yes, this is JD freaking out like a girl. Like he sometimes tends to do. It's the good kind of freak out. He hugs her tight.

He clings to her like if he lets her go she'll disappear, again. JD is having the best time of everything since coming through the Rift. He has a boyfriend! He has an Elliot! What more could he need?

"Oh my God. When did you get here? I didn't think I'd ever see you, again!"

"I've been here for a few weeks ago," She replies with a smile. At least he's still just like he was in their world. With as crazy weird as everything's been here so far, that's a welcome comfort to her.

"I had no idea you were here J.D.! If I had, I would have tried to find you sooner."
