Jaejoong followed Changmin as they made their way inside the club. The lights were dim and, although the place wasn’t really crowded, he paid extra attention to the glass floor to make sure he wouldn’t step on anyone’s feet. The smell of liquor floated through the air and the thumping music raged in Jaejoong’s ears.

He had not planned on going anywhere that night, but it seems like people from GeumDae had an exceptional ability to persuade him. He worried it’d be a problem in the future.

The two of them made their way to a private VIP booth. When they entered, Jaejoong wasn’t really surprised to see Yoochun inside with his hands roaming their way inside the shirt of a model figured girl’s body.  Their mouths were moving against each other so sensually, tongues gliding against each other, both of them not aware, or not caring that other people were in their presence.

Jaejoong felt himself blush and Changmin let out a voluntary cough to get his friend’s attention.

The two broke the kiss and Yoochun blinked for a while before he smiled. Suddenly he looked like an average boy next door. It was Park Yoochun’s charm, he was the boy who smiled and made you forget everything.

The girl moved out of Yoochun’s lap as he stood up to greet the newcomers.

“Jaejoong-ah, I’m glad you could make it.”

Pale boy only let out a small smile.

“I thought it would be nice to get you to come. You are going to be a part of all this.”

---

Yunho sat in one of the lounge chairs, fiddling with his phone. He accompanied his sister to the club. Although he had always been lax about Jihye’s exploits, it never changed the fact that he was a protective brother.  He had concluded, however, that he was such a failure at it because only 20 minutes in, he’d already lost sight of her.

He sighed to himself. At least he’d still get to take her home safely in his car.

He tucked his phone inside his pocket, before tapping his fingers on the table. He wasn’t used to being alone in such setting, at least not outside of the Secret Eden.

His eyes wandered around, he knew a few people but didn’t bother mingling with any of them. It was uncharacteristic of him to be so listless, but lately he’d just been so bored with…everything, everything aside from that student, Kim Jaejoong.

He was new, so different from everyone else in GeumDae, from everyone else he’d been with. He was completely void of that air of arrogance Yunho had been so used to, there was no sign of pretentiousness and despite the natural allure Kim Jaejoong radiated, he was so innocent, so unscathed, unlike the rest of them were.

He had caught Yunho’s interest, the moment he laid eyes on him. He couldn’t forget it, his flushed cheeks, his lithe form, the way his surprised eyes reflected through the mirror. When he had heard and seen him laughing with Yoochun, Yunho’s want for him just escalated.

Jung had always been a competitive man, in a way, he was just like Yoochun, he always got what he wanted, and it didn’t matter what it was.

His head continued wandering off until his eyes darted to a group of people. He almost rubbed his eyes in disbelief. He had just been thinking about him…and there he was in the crowd, lost in a sea of people whom Yunho thought he’d be better without.

Kim Jaejoong.

---

He didn’t even remember what he was laughing about anymore. It didn’t matter because everyone seemed to love the way he did so.

Jaejoong couldn’t recall the names of everyone in the booth, but he knew they were all important people, and yet he didn’t care and he found himself so unguarded in their presence.  He took another glass from the table and chugged it down so carelessly. He’d lost count on the number of shots he’s had, but as long as it still felt good, it didn’t matter.

“Loosen up” he remembered Yoochun’s words from earlier that night.

Yoochun watched him with an amused smile. It was so easy for Jaejoong to win people’s hearts. The freshman must’ve said something adorably silly again because laughter echoed in the booth.

He was something.

Everyone suddenly turned their heads when they saw Changmin walk back with another person. “Look who I found.”

Jaejoong felt his heart skip a beat and the wide grin from his laughter suddenly disappeared when his eyes met Yunho’s stoic ones.

“Yunho-yah! What are you doing here? Take a seat.”

---

There were only a few people left in the booth. Most of them had already gone to the dance floor, while some were engaging in their own conversations.

Yunho sat down with a bottle of beer in his hand and his eyes glued to Jaejoong, watching him laugh charmingly at the man beside him.  The man played with the lock of hair on the side of his face as Jaejoong continued to tell a story about his misbehaved cat. The pale boy was obviously very tipsy, with the way some of his words slurred. The man whispered something into Jaejoong’s ear and Yunho saw him blush. Blushing, but not as purely and subdued as he remembered him the first time they met in the restroom.

A strange feeling of pride washed over him. He’d seen Jaejoong blush with absolute weakness, unlike the other man who’d only caught it because he was out of himself.

“Jung, you don’t seem to be enjoying yourself.” Yunho felt someone sag beside him. Yoochun laid his head on his shoulder as his eyes trailed to what Yunho was watching. “You don’t have to keep an eye on him all night you know.”

Yunho didn’t bother to reply and instead took a swig from his bottle, eyes still centered on Jaejoong.

“You really do like him don’t you? I wonder why.”  The smell of alcohol from his breath was evident.

When Yunho didn’t reply again, Yoochun stood up with a childish pout. “Aish. Yun-ah, you’re too boring recently.  Jaejoong would probably like a man with excitement.”

The senator’s son walked his way to Jaejoong, pulling him out of his conversation with the nameless man. “Let’s dance!”

Yunho watched as Jaejoong bowed apologetically at his companion before being pulled away by Yoochun to the dance floor.

When they reached the middle, Jaejoong stood awkwardly. The lights were blaring at him. The loud music was making his heartbeat thump and everyone else’s jostling bodies made him want to jump every time they’d come in contact with his skin.

It was pretty uncomfortable for the first few seconds, but after awhile, thanks to the alcohol, he found himself swinging a little to the beat. Laughing to himself once in awhile. He thought he probably looked stupid.

“I don’t know how to dance!” Jaejoong shouted, as the music stole away his voice.

“Close your eyes” he could faintly hear Yoochun, but he nodded with a big grin. “Now swing your hips.” Jaejoong giggled and followed his instruction thoughtlessly. “Now pretend that nobody is here with you”

---

That night, freedom tasted like the alcohol left in his tongue. Freedom sounded like the beating of the bass. Freedom felt like the way faceless bodies brushed against his.

Jaejoong wasn’t really sure what he felt like at that moment. Was it fun, excitement, audacity…courage, even?

The last thing that he could remember was the look on Yoochun’s face that told him it was okay. He was alone now, although there were so many around him, he was alone, swaying to the music and feeling his body move to whatever it wanted to do.

He slightly jumped at the feeling of someone’s arm sliding against his waist. It was again, a new experience, but he let it go through. The arm snaked to his hips, and he could barely make out the handsome face right in front of him.

It was, again, someone he didn’t know. However he had stopped caring already, he had stopped caring somewhere along the night.

“God, you move like a feline” he blushed at the deep voice, remembering how Changmin always called him kitten.

He felt a breath ghost against the nape of his neck and the arm pulled him closer. He didn’t realize he had moaned into the feeling.  “Closer,” the whisper was so near his ear and he almost felt like he had no choice but to do so.

A wet tongue replaced the hot breath on his skin, he closed his eyes, feeling weaker. He had almost fallen on the other man’s arms when he felt a hand tug him by the elbow.

The moment felt like waking up from a dream. It was like a splash of cold water against his sleep. The unfamiliar face was getting farther and farther away from him as he was being pulled. He found himself scanning the dance floor, in something resembling to panic, looking for Yoochun to help him out, but he couldn't see anyone, just a blur of unacquainted faces.

He tried tugging his arm from whoever it was pulling him, but the next thing he knew was being pushed against the alley wall, just beside the back exit of the club. His back felt a small shot of pain as he hit the brick wall.

He was about to shout at the person who pulled him out, but stopped when his eyes bore into the deep almond ones staring at him with intensity.

He knew those eyes…they were Jung Yunho’s.

He swallowed at the feel of the penetrating gaze. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” he heard a loud voice. Was that worry? Anger? Jealousy? Jaejoong couldn’t recognize it.

The pale boy didn’t know why he felt guilt engulfing him at the sound of Yunho’s voice. “I…” he didn’t know what to say, although he felt obliged to do so.

The look on Yunho’s eyes made him feel cheap. They made him feel useless, so little. He wanted to hide from him, to explain himself…to tell Yunho that he was better than what he saw.

Before Jaejoong could say anything more, he felt Yunho’s body press against his. When he looked up for an explanation cold, chapped lips enveloped his. He was surprised by it, and he wanted to open his mouth for breath, but instead the taste of beer invaded his mouth, Yunho’s tongue was sliding against his.

He tried to calm his heart and he found his way sinking into Yunho, beathing into their meshing mouths. He tilted his head to deepen the kiss. Of everything he felt that night, a part of him decided it was the press of Yunho’s lips that he liked the most. He mimicked whatever Yunho was doing, allowing the other to take control.

He moaned at the pleasurable feel of Yunho’s mouth and the growing bulge rubbing against his.

He felt a hand cup his ass, grinding their hips closer. A strained voice escaped Jaejoong’s lips again and a low growl followed his mewl.

Yunho’s voice was as deep and husky as he remembered it.

Amidst the elation he felt, his mind drifted of to the memory of Yunho’s voice.

The bathroom.

The girl’s whimpers.

What happened in GeumDae between him and the girl was happening to him right now. Jaejoong’s eyes shot open, the hands gripping on Yunho’s shirt suddenly tensed. No. No, he didn’t want to be like the rest of them. He didn’t want to be one of Yunho’s conquests, one of his toys.

He pulled his lips away, wanting the other’s body off him as quickly as possible.

He pushed Yunho away, but the other was too strong. “S-stop” he requested out of his breath. Yunho only paused for a while and looked at him with lust filled eyes before he dove into Jaejoong’s mouth again.

Jaejoong turned his head to avoid him, “Stop!” he started to struggle, but Yunho had him in his control.

“Stop!”

Jaejoong felt fear running up his spine. He had no power in the situation. All he could feel was Yunho’s heavy body against his.

“Stop!”

He still had not let go and Jaejoong started to feel the need to cry.

“Stop it! Please!”

“You’re hurting me!”

It was those words that finally brought Yunho back to his senses. The taller man looked back into Jaejoong’s eyes, he saw nothing but fear and resentment in them.

What had he done? He had been so fueled with his selfishness and desire towards Jaejoong. Had he really hurt him that bad? Had he really lost control? He felt so guilty. He didn't mean to make Jaejoong feel the way he did.

He looked for the innocence in the pale boy’s eyes that he’d grown to like. At that moment, they were gone, just replaced bewildernment and confusion.

He slowly let go of Jaejoong. It was almost unbearable to look him.

The last thing he could remember was the way Jaejoong’s figure walked away from him.

---

It was 5 a.m. in the morning and he was lucky that the sun wasn’t up yet.

Jaejoong made his way into their house, stumbling as he tried to reach the nearest bathroom. When he got in, he immediately went to the toilet to vomit, his stomach feeling upset from too much to drink and his head circling intoxication.

He gargled to rid of the horrible taste in his mouth before splashing water onto his face.

After getting rid of the unpleasant weight on his stomach and freshening up, he made his way up to his room, hoping, with the little bit of sanity he had left, that everyone in his family was already sleeping. He was too out of himself to realize that from the moment he stepped inside, one of his sisters, who had been waiting for him worriedly, had watched him all along.

---

Jaejoong pushed the grocery cart sleepily as he heard his sister rant about work. Although he was tired, with only two hours of sleep, he enjoyed fetching the groceries with his sister. It was a habit they’ve developed since he was in sixth grade.

He smiled at Minkyung, his favorite, as she put a pack of soda in the cart.

“Anyway, do you think he stole my co-worker’s research papers?”

Jaejoong didn't answer, realizing that he hadn’t been paying much attention to what she was saying all along.

“Were you even listening to me?" Minkyung, looked back at Jaejoong with a worried smile. His brother had made it home 5 a.m. in the morning that day, and though he looked way better than his wasted self he last night, she couldn't help but feel overly protective. Their youngest has never been out so late, and even though a really expensive car took him back safely, she didn't like the way he spent his night.

It worried her, how his brother’s university could change him. She knew the place was quality education, but the kids in there lived a life so different from theirs.

“Joong-ah, are you sure you’re alright?”

The only son straightened himself and immediately flashed a smile, “Of course noona! Why wouldn’t I be?”

Minkyung sighed, “Because, Kim Jaejoong.” She paused. “…you went back home 5 in the morning, reeking of alcohol and vomited your stomach out.”

Jaejoong’s eyes widened. “Minkyung I---“

His sister let out a small smile. “I won’t tell mom and dad. But you better tell me everything, okay? Don’t keep secrets from me, Jaejoong. I worry about you so much. That place might change you.”

A breath of relief washed over Jaejoong. “Noona,” he said in a sweet voice as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, "Don't worry about me. I can take care of myself. I’ll always be your Joong-ah"

He beamed again before kissing her cheek.

Jaejoong wondered if he could keep his promise.

If what happened to him and Yunho last night was any indication of how his life would be if he continued with the Secret Eden, the most reasonable thing for him to do was to run away from it all. But then he also remembered dancing intoxicated, and letting loose. He remembered the beat of bass, the flavor of vodka, the laugh of the important people around him. Last night was the most freedom he's felt since he could remember.

Perhaps he was being too superficial now. But he was human too, wasn't he? That drive to belong. That drive for more. That drive for pleasure and freedom. They were some things even Kim Jaejoong sought for.
