Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in Ingenue

I think my love for the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains is very well documented in this little blog ( link 1, link 2, link 3, link 4). I love the crayon type packaging (no need to sharpen yey!), the minty flavor, the shade range and the long wearing stain. So when the brand announced that they will be releasing a glossy and matte versions of the balm stains, I was naturally very excited to try them. Unlike other new releases, these reached out shores not long after being released in the US and the UK. When I saw these at Watson's, I bought a few right away and then I kept going back to buy more. Today, I'm going to write about the only Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm that I picked up. I'm currently having a nude lip moment so I got Ingenue which is brown-nude color.

I wore this color for a week straight after I got it. That's how much I love the color and the formula. I think it's a very good addition to the balm stain family. The lacquer balms are still in the same crayon packaging although it's in a prettier metallic covering. I'm also glad that they didn't remove the minty flavor because it's very soothing, I think. It also makes me feel like I'm applying an actual balm and not a lipstick. Color payoff for Ingenue is very good and even. I just swipe this on my lips and I'm good to go. Since it's glossy, it's not as long wearing as the original balm stains. This stays on for four to five hours (unless I eat or drink, then I have to reapply after). The shade Ingenue is one of those colors that you wear when you can't think of a color to match your makeup. I wouldn't say it's my MLBB (my lips but better) color because it has a lot of brown instead of pink but when I want to look more grown-up, I use this color too. I'm also thinking of getting Demure which is a pink-nude color to go with Ingenue.

Have you tried the lacquer balms? What shades have you tried? Stay tuned for the Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms post tomorrow!
