It's ridiculous how many times I've read this in the last week. I love it to bits. ^_^

...

I've written a few scattered things here and there, none of them in the same place, and nothing else of these guys.

I'm working on something else with them, if that makes it better.

And it is hard not to love them, I concur.

That makes it infinitely better.

'scuse me while I try my hardest not to nom on them.

(Is it okay if I friend you? Just-- you know-- for the sake of being able to pounce on anything else as soon as possible. idk, I really enjoy your writing style, if that's even possible to say based on one fic. Do not be frightened. Dx)

Friend away!

Sorry if there is a little saliva on them, as they do come to you somewhat pre-nommed. Might want to give them a little wipe first.

I will cheerfully and proudly accept the blame for such awesomeness and condend that there is nothing here to be ashamed of. (And if I weren't prepping for exams, I'd be sorely tempted to try my hand at a bit of Rex/McCullen myself.)

I am pretty sure they won't evaporate by the time your exam preparation is complete--but, then again, ice does sink in their world, so you never know.

Replying to this comment instead of where it was discussed, because the squeezedtightlytogether comments will just get worse in some layouts, as further above. "An entire movie of testosterone and *no one's* getting slashed?" While not having been on message boards for ages, I think it's also in part the old fandom. This was, despite everything and my gender, a guy comic more so. The number of people in the military on some message boards back some 7 years ago was not surprising given that it was G.I.Joe, but if you look at the macho image some of that might have to uphold, plus "Don't ask, don't tell" stuff, you may get an inkling of how slash wasn't the most popular or focused on thing in what little fic floated around. I never read much fic in any fandom, but the fandom didn't seem too focused on the pairings or the social stuff too much in general even in discussions. Too no-nonsense for that ( ... )

Yeah, there are certainly a lot of reasons that this fandom is small and relatively slash free. But that's all right, the more authors there are the more likely you run into Mary Sues and arguments other fandoms are rife with.

As a young boy I grew up with GI Joe, and I loved it. I was always the villain when my friends and I played army and war games, probably because I insisted on it. Unfortunately, most little boys don't grow up to be me. (Well, boys that aren't blackletter, anyway.)

"It's awesome finding someone else into this beautiful pairing. I think there were two of us before you read & commented."Two? I should say rather more, but then I'm always open and into any pairing for any of my favourite figures, so in my case it's possibly more about being in the character slutting regions. Especially when before the movie I was afraid JGL wouldn't be able to pull the character off, and that the movie would be extremely bad. Which would have lead to nothing else ever surfacing in the Joe line of movies. As an old skool fan the movie proved delectable enough in its own ways, and while I'm not a natural shipper of any sort either, any pairing and fic will please me. These two seemed one of those to write (at least in the case of people with better than average tastes? ;) ) after the movie, or just in general given the characters histories and interactions elsewhere, too ( ... )

Ah, I am certain there are many fans and many would-be fans of this pairing, made hard to find by both GI Joe's lack of presence on Livejournal and the poor reception of the film. I am glad that you have found my post, however ( ... )

The Return of Cobra? ladynyks September 23 2009, 16:38:24 UTC
I look forward to seeing more posts from you and will stalk around for glances when I remember within my limited Net times. You luck out slightly on CC not being a new favourite of mine like Ozymandias was when Watchmen came out, his blowing the bank in both breaking my dirty manip-making virginehtay and making me write two short fics for the first time in practically years. Although yeah, I'd feel way too weirded out contemplating manips here. But yes, I can draw a little, but have no idea how you'd apply things like that, even if talking headers or something. Drawing also depends on inspiration, how much I want/need/must have something, and the fandom fuelling anything like that. In this case, pictures to use as references also rather help, meh. Tssshh to ferrohannah, especially when I think it's Hana or hanna without the h for the name? Something more obvious would be helpful (and I'm not suggesting borrowing Duran Duran's Union of the Snake either, no). Erm, as in, I'm not volunteering for anything, but wish to subscribe to your ( ... )

"Ferrohannah" was suggested by me as a portmanteau of "ferrous", a category of metals, and "hannah" being part of ophiophagus hannah the "Latin" name for the king cobra. It was rejected because I was the only person that liked it. Sigh.

Never be afraid to comment! I love comments.

Ferro something or the other is iron or some such from what I recall, if it wasn't already there in the table of elements or whatever its name in English. Naja hanna is the Hindi for king cobra, from what I recall, so it's simply different languages, especially since my version comes via Finnish.
