They are lovely!

(If you don't have bird experience, I would recommend getting one from a breeder that is hand fed and tame, otherwise they can be a handful. Note the five handfuls above.)

oh I've had birds before (Which is why I don't have any now...they are quite the handful, and right now I wouldn't have the time they require).
And yes, I would definitely go through a breeder. They can also offer so much more knowledge about the particular bird you are buying.

The parrot_lovers comm and the like is usually overflowing with wet birdie pictures for this very reason!

They smell rather like wet dog.

Pretty birdies :) Poor Spot, can't get any :( What kind of bird is Chico?

Chico is a lutino peach faced lovebird.

He's a beeb. He likes Half-Life as much as I do : )

LOL- he is very pretty. Very neon yellow. I thought love birds had to come in pairs or is that just an old wives' tale?

Mm, they have to come in pairs if you don't spend every waking moment with them. Otherwise you can get one, so long as it can bond with you rather than a second bird. He's very much a people bird.

He's iridescent, actually. The white feathers (and some of the yellow ones on his back) are crystalline--they have a pearly look to them that a camera usually can't capture. Someone I know managed to photograph them on their lutino lovebird, and I'll send it to you when I get home. They're soooooooo cuute omg.

Also I have movement class. If you hear about some Hiroshima-kaplooey or Chernobyling from the direction of Ottawa, Canada, it was me. I admit it. I hate Movement so much. Especially since I am supposed to be exempted for being a cripple. OMG. I need to Twitter about this.

what cute birds! I have had cockatiels, budgies and small parrots. They're great.

Every time I have an empty cage something feathered tends to find its way into it.
